BRUCE HANNA (R) — Oregon State Representative, District 7 (2009)
Bruce Hanna is currently serving his third term as the State Representative for House District 7, which includes parts of Lane and Douglas Counties. He was elected by his colleagues as the House Republican Leader in 2007 and continues in that role today. He serves as Vice-Chair of the House Administration Committee and on the House Land Use Committee.
As House Republican Leader, Bruce leads the 24 Oregon House Republicans through legislative issues and sessions and manages Promote Oregon Leadership PAC, which is the House Republican’s political arm dedicated to electing good, solid Republicans to the state House and taking back the majority.
Bruce’s election to leadership comes as no surprise to those who know him. He has a knack for leading others, managing successful projects and businesses, and is well-respected by those he works with.
Bruce became an active and successful businessman at a young age when he established a Dairy Queen franchise in Pleasant Hill, Oregon. His success caught the attention of Coca-Cola, which accepted him into their USA Management Candidate Program. After training with the company for one year, Bruce returned to Oregon to become the sales manager at Coca-Cola Bottling of Roseburg.
Taking his knowledge of the industry, Bruce built a soft drink distribution system and established a new company. By expanding on his system and ultimately purchasing three more bottling companies, he built Siskiyou Beverages, which became a successful company as well.
In 1990, Bruce sold Siskiyou Beverages and purchased the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Roseburg – of which he currently serves as President and CEO - and its sister company, Automatic Vending Service.
In addition to his legislative and professional duties, Bruce is also on the board of directors for Advantage Dental, the C. Giles Hunt Foundation, the Community Cancer Center, on the board of trustees for Northwest Christian University in Eugene, and a member of the Roseburg Executive Association and the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
Bruce and his wife, Teresa, live in Roseburg; he has two sons and a daughter. When he has spare time, he enjoys hunting, skiing and snowmobiling.
