Marilyn Kittelman, Republican, Candidate for Oregon State Senate, 4th District
Marilyn authored and got passed a county ordinance, one of the first in the nation, protecting property owners from having their private property confiscated through the wrongful use of eminent domain. No longer can Douglas County Government entertain the idea of condemning private property for commercial gain.
• Marilyn worked hard to restore lost property rights to landowners, by working to pass Measure 7 and later Measure 37. She testified before the legislature to help strengthen and preserve the voter’s intent. Now more than ever with the legislature having voted to overturn the will of the people – we need Marilyn Kittelman’s strong leadership to once again fight for us, to insure that our voice is heard!
• Marilyn served on the Douglas County Planning Commission. Her experience and leadership on important land use issues brought a valuable perspective to the Board of Commissioners. She has been a strong advocate of preserving the integrity and independence of that body, to make certain they are free from undue political influence.
• She testified before the legislature to stop the state from metering our well water and ground water. “This would have added unnecessary regulations and caused enormous economic hardship to our farmers and ranchers, as if our current regulations and taxes are enough!” Due to her efforts and those of many others, this terrible legislation was stopped in its tracks!
• Marilyn opposed Measures 66 and 67. “The voters were given a false choice; raising taxes or cutting essential services. It’s funny how they wanted individuals and businesses to pay ‘just a little more’ when the government can’t ever seem to live with just a little less. It’s time for government to live within their means!”

Tim Freeman, Republican, Oregon State Representative, 2nd District
I grew up, got married, started my business, and am raising two beautiful children here in Douglas County. As a member of Douglas County for most of my life, I share many of the same values and beliefs you do.
In my first term in office I have been working to make these values and beliefs a priority in Salem. As you take a look at my website and learn more about what I stand for and believe in please do not hesitate to share your thougts with me. As your state representative, I am here to serve and help you. Read More . . .
